One Chance: Training with Shal Wilson in 2026
As we look ahead to the 2026 riding season, we wanted to share a bit more context around something that’s both intentional and special: Shal Wilson will be leading just one in-person training in 2026, and it will take place during the Desert Adventure Rally, April 7–12 in Bisbee.
This decision comes from a very real place. Like many of us, Shal is balancing life, work, and bandwidth—and rather than spreading herself thin, she chose to show up fully in one setting that truly supports the way she loves to teach. While there may be other training opportunities through SheADV this year, this is the only chance for ADV training directly with Shal in 2026.
The all-women’s training offered at the rally follows the same progression-based curriculum used by SheADV, built to develop real-world skills and lasting confidence. Training sessions are paired with out-rides, so riders immediately apply what they’re learning on actual terrain—cementing skills in a way that feels practical, empowering, and fun.
Set against the backdrop of Southern Arizona’s incredible desert riding, the Desert Adventure Rally creates an ideal environment for growth. Days are spent riding and learning, while evenings are relaxed and community-oriented, with great food, campfires, and time to connect. It’s a supportive, welcoming space where riders can show up exactly where they are and leave feeling more capable and confident.
Beyond the training itself, the Desert Adventure Rally experience is a big part of what makes the week so memorable. Breakfasts and dinners are fully catered with genuinely incredible food that fuels long ride days, while evenings bring everyone together to relax, laugh, and connect. From campfires and conversations to wandering Bisbee on foot and watching the latest BDR film at the local theater, the week settles into an smooth, grounding rhythm. It’s the kind of environment where learning feels supported, friendships form naturally, and the experience becomes more than just training—it becomes a shared memory.
It’s also worth noting that all training at the rally qualifies for a $200 rebate through the MOA Foundation, making it an even easier yes for riders who’ve been thinking about investing in their skills.
If training with Shal has been on your list—or if you’ve been waiting for the right moment to prioritize yourself and your riding—this week in Bisbee might be exactly that moment.
